Isaiah 40:31 (NIV, KJV) but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Hoping in or waiting on the Lord is picture of spiritual reality. It is having faith and trust that God is who he says he is and he will do what he says he will do as in this passage he will renew our strength. ~ To hope in God is to stand in awe of Him and His power with the confidence that God will faithfully perform His word. Thus hope becomes trust in the righteous character of Yahweh. (Holman Bible Dictionary)
Hebrews 1:1-3 (NIV) The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
